Care and maintenance

Please take into account the following considerations to avoid product damage:

  • Do not use neither corrosive nor abrasive cleaning products.

  • Do not expose the product to impacts, dust, humidity or high temperatures.

  • Do not disassemble the device. All repair works should be carried out exclusively by qualified staff of Energy Sistem Technology, S.A.


Safety

For safety reasons, we recommend not handling the product while driving. Adjust the frequency and configure the device before starting the drive.

Switching on and off the device

Car Transmitter FM Xtra switches on automatically and shows the battery voltage when you plug it into the car cigarette lighter. This will happen when the device is supplied with power. After a few seconds, the home screen appears. To turn it off, simply unplug the device from the cigarette lighter.


FM transmitter

Car Transmitter FM Xtra features a built-in FM transmitter to stream music from your source device to the car FM radio receiver. To ensure proper radio signal, tune into the very same radio frequency on both the transmitter and the receiver.

First of all, search for a free frequency on your car radio. You will identify a free frequency easily since the signal is weak or there is no signal at all when selecting it. Once you have selected a free frequency on your car radio, select the very same frequency on your CarTransmitter FM Xtra and press PLAY to start playback. At this point your car radio will receive the transmitted signal. If the quality is not good enough, fine-tune the frequency using the car radio or select another free frequency.

To select a frequency on your Car Transmitter FM Xtra, press the FM frequency (4) button and use the Volume knob (1) to find the desired frequency. Press the FM frequency (4) button once again to select the FM frequency.

If your car features an audio-in, you can connect the Car Transmitter FM Xtra via the 3.5 mm line-out (9). This way, you will not be using it as an FM radio transmitter.


Alternative use of the device via line-out

If your vehicle has a 3.5 mm line-in, you can do without the radio broadcast and play music via the 3.5 mm line-out (9) of your Car Transmitter FM Xtra. To do so, plug one end of the cable (3.5 mm stereo male jack plug to 3.5 mm stereo male jack plug) into your car line-in and the other end to the car transmitter line-out.

This way, you can use all the product's functionalities such as playing music wirelessly via Bluetooth connection or answering hands-free calls without the need to transmit the signal via FM radio, thus achieving superior audio quality and signal stability.


Playback mode

Press and hold the FM frequency (4) button for 2 seconds to switch between the different playback modes: microSD, USB or Bluetooth mode.


Micro SD and USB player

Listen to .mp3, .wav and .flac files from Micro SD cards or USB sticks (up to 128 GB). The contents play automatically a few seconds after inserting the storage unit.

Press Next (3) or Back (2) to switch to the next or previous track. Press the Main button (1) to pause or resume playback.

The folders and files stored on your removable storage units will be read in chronological order. To select a folder, press the Main button (1) twice in a row. Then press the Next (3) or Back (2) buttons until you find the desired folder.


Sound settings

To adjust the sound to your liking, Car Transmitter FM Xtra allows you to select the preferred EQ mode. Press and hold the Multifunction button (5) for 2 seconds to see the available EQ modes:
Normal ==> Rock ==> Pop ==> Classic ==> Jazz ==> Country

You will go back to the playback screen after 3 seconds if no action is performed.


Charging port

Car Transmitter FM Xtra features a USB-A port to charge other devices. This allows you to charge your smartphone or any other 5 V 2 A DC powered device.

To charge it, simply connect the external device you want to charge to the FM transmitter's USB charging port (8) using a USB cable. The charging process starts immediately.


Bluetooth® wireless connection

Access the list of available devices on your smartphone or tablet and once there, select your Car Transmitter FM Xtra. The devices will be connected without codes. Once the connection has been established, you will hear a confirmation sound.

At this point, you can start music playback on your smartphone or tablet. The Bluetooth wireless connection range is up to 20 metres.

You can control playback functions from the device using the Next (3), Back (2) and Main (1) buttons, also when Micro SD or USB mode is enabled.


Hands-free function

Use the built-in hands-free function to talk on the phone while driving. To answer an incoming call, press the Main button (1). Press the very same button once again to hang up.


Voice Assistant

You can interact with your smartphone's voice assistant using your Car Transmitter FM Xtra. Press and hold the Main button (1) for 2 seconds to activate your smartphone's voice assistant via Bluetooth® wireless connection.
